Maximising the site yield on a sloped and awkward shaped block with restrictive height limits and narrow site entrance
Providing the required parking without the need of a full below ground basement
The corner site provided its challenges with its awkward small triangular shape, sloping terrain, restrictive height limits and narrow entrance. To accommodate 6 apartments and minimise basement building costs the building was designed top down. Andrew worked with structural engineers to reduce the roof profile and minimise floor structures to maximise apartment ceiling heights and minimise excavation for the parking.
The parking was designed as a spiral therefore reducing the ramp length, maximising parking space and minimising excavation.
