The brief called for a showroom to serve the clients business needs and a separately accessed commercial space that can be leased with all parking on grade. The office and staff spaces required for the showroom were innovatively suspended in a 'pod' and floated above the shop floor. This reduced the buildings ground floor footprint and enabled the parking to be located at the rear on grade. The free space above the parking then allowed a commercial floor to be added with separate external access.
